CHALLENGE
Building a physics-based mini game for browser play. This project explored the intersection of organic illustration, bespoke typography, and AI-accelerated development to create a delightful 60-second game experience.
APPROACH
Human-AI Co-Authorship: By using AI as a technical co-pilot, the design process was freed from the constraints of manual programming. This allowed me to focus on game design, game assets, and brand elements.
Physics-Driven: I used AI to iterate on the "kick" logic; calculating precise bounce angles based on where the player taps/clicks the protagonist.
Feedback Loops: Successive hits trigger custom particle bursts and floating typographic scores that scale in size as the player’s multiplier increases.
RESULTS
A polished, brand-aligned micro-game published on Itch.io.
Visual Fidelity: Bespoke brand typography and character design that runs at 60fps.
Engagement: A complete "Time-Attack" loop that leverages high-score persistence and tactile feedback to drive replayability.
Efficiency: A design-first workflow where AI handled the heavy lifting of the HTML5 Canvas logic, allowing for a rapid "Design-to-Publish" sprint.
VISUAL OPTIMISATION
Given the constraints of the browser environment, minimising the digital footprint was a core priority. A curated colour palette, paired with the strategic use of reusable sprites, particle emitters, and tiled backgrounds, significantly reduced bandwidth requirements. This lean asset architecture ensures near-instant loading times, allowing players to engage with the experience without friction.
TYPOGRAPHY
To complement the illustrative game art, a bespoke typeface was developed. This unifies the visual language of the game, ensuring a cohesive brand identity and establishing ownable IP.
